AAP Youth Wing organizes Punjab Youth Run-2026 in Mohali to raise awareness against drugs

Mohali (Punjab), August 9, 2026: The Punjab Youth Wing of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised the Punjab Youth Run-2026 in Mohali as part of its campaign against drug abuse.
The 5.5-km run began from Gurdwara Amb Sahib in Phase 8, Mohali, and witnessed the participation of a large number of youngsters. Prominent participants included Sri Anandpur Sahib MP Malvinder Singh Kang, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh, Parminder Singh Goldy, Chairman of the Punjab Youth Development Board, Mohali Municipal Corporation Mayor Sarabjit Singh Samana and District Planning Board Mohali Chairperson Engineer Prabhjot Kaur.
Speaking to journalists, MLA Kulwant Singh said the enthusiastic participation of youngsters reflected their determination to collectively fight the menace of drugs.
He said government campaigns could achieve their objectives only when people actively participated in them. The large turnout at the Punjab Youth Run, he added, showed that the anti-drug campaign launched by the AAP Youth Wing was now developing into a people's movement.
Kulwant Singh said the 5.5-km Punjab Youth Run would continue in the future to regularly create awareness among people, particularly young people, about the dangers of drug abuse.
Participants took part in the run wearing campaign T-shirts and displayed enthusiasm, discipline and a spirit of solidarity.
The MLA said the AAP government under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann was working to combat drugs and had launched a sustained campaign against the menace. He also claimed that more than 70,000 government jobs had been provided to young people to help address unemployment in the state.
Gurpreet Singh Bains, Joint Secretary of the Punjab Youth Wing, along with other AAP leaders, workers and volunteers, was also present during the event.
