Young students explore journey of letters at Post Office
Despite social media boom, letters still hold a special place
Ferozepur, October 9, 2026: To mark National Postal Day, students of Class II of DCM International School visited the post office as part of an educational tour and gained first-hand knowledge of postal services and their functioning.
During the visit, Head Postmaster Gurpreet Bedi explained to the students how letters are sorted, processed and delivered to their destinations. He also briefed them about various services provided by the post office and its important role in connecting people.
Despite the growing use of social media and instant messaging, the importance of letters is still felt in our lives. Letters carry a personal touch and emotions that digital messages often fail to convey.
The students showed keen interest in the functioning of the post office and asked questions about the journey of letters from the time they are posted until they reach the recipient.
School Principal Anuradha Chandel said that practical exposure along with classroom learning was essential for the overall development of students. Educational visits not only satisfy children's curiosity but also give them an opportunity to understand real-life activities closely, making the learning process more interesting and effective.
Students Drishti, Prabhnoor Kaur, Shreya, Nehal, Aarav and Ishan shared their experiences and said the visit was highly interesting and informative. They enjoyed learning about postal services and observing the activities at the post office.
