IQAC, CGC Landran organizes workshop on AI-powered teaching

Chandigarh, October 9, 2026: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of CGC Landran organised a day-long online workshop on “AI-Powered Teaching: A Hands-On Approach to Tools and Techniques in Higher Education,” with the participation of more than 60 faculty members.
The workshop aimed to equip educators with practical skills to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools into teaching and learning in higher education.
The sessions focused on the applications of AI and Generative AI in lesson planning, content creation, student engagement, assessment and personalised learning. Through live demonstrations, practical exercises and interactive discussions, participants explored ways to use AI-powered resources to support effective, learner-centred teaching.
A dedicated hands-on session introduced faculty members to AI-based educational tools, particularly Brisk AI and School AI. Participants explored their use in developing teaching resources, interactive activities, assessments, presentations and other instructional materials.
The workshop also highlighted the importance of aligning AI-generated content with learning objectives and expected student outcomes, while promoting the responsible use of AI in academic settings.
Dr Harsimran Kaur, Dean, IQAC, CGC Landran, said the workshop aimed not only to familiarise faculty members with AI tools but also to build their practical confidence and competence in using the technologies responsibly.
She added that combining AI with sound pedagogical practices could help educators create more engaging and personalised learning experiences while improving teaching effectiveness and student learning outcomes.
The workshop concluded with discussions on the responsible integration of AI and Generative AI into academic practices. It also encouraged faculty members to strengthen their digital skills and adopt innovative, technology-enabled teaching methods.
