Chandigarh , November 27 , 2016 : Although Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Badal today , announced the suspension of DGP Jails after the attack on Nabha Jail and escape of 5 under trials but interestingly there is no Designation of DGP Jails Punjab. The designation of Head of Department of Prisons Punjab is ADGP Prisons . The presently 1987 batch Punjab Cadre IPS MK Tiwari has been holding the charge of ADGP Prisons .
A senior official of the CMO has confirmed that Mr. Tiwari , ADGP , Prisons has been suspended.
The name of the dismissed Nabha Jail Superindent is Ashwani Kapoor .
