Chandigarh, Nov 28, 2016 : Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Home Mr. Ram Niwas today said that an investigation team has been constituted by Director General of Police to look into the reasons for failure of police personnel posted at naka set up in Kaithal to intercept the escaped inmates from Nabha Jail, Patiala in Punjab. Disciplinary action will be taken against the erring police personnel, he added.
Mr. Ram Niwas said that nakas had been set up in the state to intercept the escaped inmates, including a militant namely Harminder Singh Mintoo, who was arrested from Delhi today. He said that Haryana and Delhi police had swung into action immediately after getting information in this regard from Punjab.
He said that strict orders were issued to maintain continuous vigil and prevent any kind of infiltration at state borders and check posts. He said that red alert was issued in the state the previous day and patrolling on the highways had been increased. Apart from this, malls, markets and other places with heavy footfall are also under surveillance, he added.
