Captain Government to allow Live Telecast of Vidhan Sabha Proceedings
Chandigarh , August 25 , 2018 : Captain Government has planned to allow live telecast of the debate on the controversial report of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission on sacrilege incidents of Guru Granth Sahib and police firing at protesters in Kotkapura and Behbal Kalan.
A senior cabinet minister confirming the decision to go for live telecast told babushahi.com that the facility will only be provided for one day o August 28, 2018.
It has been learnt that the decision has been orally conveyed to the speaker and formalities are likely to be finalised on Monday . It is still be seen whether private channels would be allowed to cover or the DD to be authorised to cover providing link to the private channels .
The decision to go for live telecast aimed at exposing the role of the previous Badal Government, SAD and its leaders on the issue of sacrilege incidents at Bargari and other places.
Justice Ranjit Singh Commission report will be tabled in Punjab assembly session on Monday.
It has already been reported that the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) headed by chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh in its meeting on Thursday decided to go on an offensive against the Akalis by fielding its firebrand leaders.
AAP leader Sukhpal Khaira, Kanwar Sandhu and H S Phoolka had demanded the live telecast of the proceeding of the house keeping in mind the importance of the report of the commission.
SAD president Sukhbir Badal said they will be happy to expose the state government , ruling party and Ranjit Singh during proposed live telecast.
