SGPC rejects Justice Ranjit Singh Commission’s Report
Amritsar, Aug 25, 2018 - Justice Ranjit Singh Commission’s report has been squarely rejected here today during the SGPC Executive Committee meeting.
However, Justice Ranjit Singh Commission has recently concluded his report on Sacrilege issue of Guru Granth Sahib occurred at Bargari during the tenure of previous Government headed by Shriomani AKali Dal Badal.
Executive Committee meeting of SGPC headed by SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal passed a resolution to reject the report prepared by Justice Ranjit Singh Commission.
Longowal demanded fresh probe by the sitting judge of Supreme Court in order to bring transparency.
Expressing his concern over report, Longowal alleged that Justice Ranjit Singh has deliberately publicize his report before tabling in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha probably due to some ulterior motives which couldn’t be denied.
Longowal said that SGPC had rejected the commission from the day one when it was initially formed by the Captain led Congress Government.
He condemned Government for storing the torn pages of Guru Granth Sahib in SARKARI Malkhana (official custody) as it was severe disrespect of pious Guru Granth Sahib.
Longowal described the Commission as Government’s puppet, allegedly working on the tunes of Government as it has no respect for the holy Guru Granth Sahib.
He accused Justice Ranjit Singh Commission for allegedly spreading confusions among Sikh community for brining fake facts besides using objectionable language against SGPC.
Describing the Commission’s report as concocted, he said that statements of witnesses were tempered as per the wishes of Commission allegedly working at the behest of Government. He said that Commission has misused the Government infrastructure.
