Neeraj Sharma assumes charge as Agriculture Officer (HQ) at Ferozepur
Ferozepur, June 20, 2025: Neeraj Kumar Sharma, a seasoned officer in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, officially took charge today as the Agriculture Officer (HQ) at Ferozepur following his promotion. His appointment is expected to bring new strategies and development-oriented initiatives to the agriculture sector in the region.
During the formal charge-taking ceremony, Dr. Gurpreet Singh Sidhu, Chief Agriculture Officer of Ferozepur, along with other departmental officers and staff, were present.
In his address, Neeraj Sharma assured that he would work with full dedication, sincerity, and honesty for the welfare of farmers. He emphasized that the role of the agriculture department is not limited to implementing government schemes but also includes strengthening the economic condition of farmers.
He further stated that efforts will be made to encourage local farmers to adopt new techniques, climate-resilient crops, and natural farming methods to increase productivity and promote environmentally sustainable practices. Sharma also promised timely dissemination of information about government schemes and assured full support to farmers in availing the benefits.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Gurpreet Singh Sidhu highlighted the agricultural potential of the district, mentioning its fertile land and sufficient water resources. He said that with proper guidance, this region could set an example in the state. Dr. Sidhu praised Sharma as a thoughtful officer who maintains consistent contact with farmers and is expected to continue ground-level work for their betterment.
It is noteworthy that prior to this, Neeraj Sharma served as Agriculture Development Officer (Enforcement) in Ferozepur. Among others present on the occasion were Block Agriculture Officer Dr. Gursaheb Singh, Dr. Amit Punj, Dr. Rajneesh, Dr. Gurwant Singh Bhullar, Dr. Rajwinder, Accounts Officer Sanjeev Gupta, Senior Assistant Karan, and Superintendent Sukhpal Singh.
