Randomization of polling staff conducted for Ludhiana West Bypolls

Ludhiana (Punjab), May 31, 2025: The Ludhiana district administration on Saturday conducted the first round of randomization of polling staff for the upcoming Ludhiana West by-elections, in the presence of District Election Officer Himanshu Jain.
According to an official statement, the randomization was carried out at the NIC office using the dedicated DISE software.The process involved over 1,552 employees from central and state government departments, banks, and public sector undertakings.
These employees will be deployed in various roles during the polling, including Presiding Officers (PRO), Assistant PROs, and Polling Officers (POs).
The randomization was conducted as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure transparency, fairness, and impartiality in assigning election duties.
The by-election is scheduled for June 19 and will cover 194 polling stations, including two auxiliary stations, across 66 locations in the Ludhiana West constituency.
A separate randomization will be held for the counting staff, with counting set to take place on June 23.
District Election Officer Himanshu Jain emphasized that the administration is committed to conducting the elections in a fair and transparent manner in line with ECI rules and regulations.He added that comprehensive arrangements are in place to ensure smooth polling and counting processes.
Prominent officials present during the randomization included Additional Deputy Commissioners Rohit Gupta and Shikha Bhagat, Election Tehsildar Barjinder Singh Bagga, and ADIO Sanjay Sheokand.
