MP Manish Tewari meets Sector-22 residents, promises swift action on civic issues

Chandigarh, July 2, 2025: Chandigarh MP and former Union Minister Manish Tewari met with residents of Sector-22 today to hear their concerns and grievances firsthand. The interactive session was also attended by Chandigarh Congress President H.S. Lucky and other senior party leaders.
Tewari assured the gathering that resolving local issues and ensuring Chandigarh’s holistic development remains the top priorities of the Congress party.
He informed residents that he has already instructed concerned officials to act on several civic issues discussed in recent review meetings on central government schemes.
The MP also said that he is utilizing his MPLAD funds to support various development projects across the city. He took the opportunity to criticize recent changes in the mayoral election process, calling them a threat to democratic principles.
Tewari extended his thanks to Punjab Youth Congress General Secretary Aman Slach for organizing the meeting, stating that such grassroots engagements would further strengthen the Congress base in Chandigarh.
Speaking at the event, H.S. Lucky highlighted that Congress governments have historically led the nation in development and lauded MP Tewari’s continuous efforts for the city’s progress.
Other notable attendees included former Deputy Mayor Balraj Kumar, Chandigarh Congress Treasurer Vikram Chopra, General Secretary Narendra Nandi, and Maninder Pal Sidhu.
