World No Tobacco Day observed by DLSA at multiple locations in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 31, 2025: World No Tobacco Day was observed with various awareness activities to mark the day, in accordance with the directives of the Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar Mohali, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Ferozepur, under the guidance of Sumit Malhotra, District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, The events were led by Chief Judicial Magistrate and Secretary of DLSA, Anuradha.
As part of the awareness campaign, seminars and workshops were conducted at multiple locations, including the Central Jail, Ferozepur, a de-addiction center, Civil Hospital, various schools, and sub-tehsils in Zira and Guru Har Sahai. During these sessions, officials educated students and the general public about the severe health consequences of tobacco use, including cancer and other fatal diseases, urging everyone to steer clear of tobacco consumption.
Participants, including students and citizens, pledged to abstain from tobacco in the future and to encourage others to do the same. To further emphasize the harmful effects of substance abuse, students created paintings and slogans promoting awareness against tobacco use.
This initiative underscores the commitment of DLSA Ferozepur to fostering a healthier community by spreading awareness on the dangers of tobacco and encouraging preventive measures at all levels of society.
