Er Shingaar Singh Talwandi’s Book "Dakhan Di Yatra" released by Kala Peeth

Ferozepur, August 4, 2024: The organization Kala Peeth, consistently striving for the expansion of literary culture, hosted a simple yet heartfelt event to release the latest travelogue "Dakhan Di Yatra" by Er Shingaar Singh Talwandi. The event was presided over by the prominent Punjabi poet and President of Kala Peeth, Prof. Jaspal Ghai, while the main guest was renowned ghazal writer Prof. Gurtej Koharwala.
The author, Er Shingaar Singh Talwandi, was also part of the presiding committee. The stage was managed by esteemed poet and translator Sukhjinder. Harmeet Vidyarthi welcomed the guests and provided information about the activities of Kala Peeth.
In the first segment, the ceremonial release of Er Shingaar Singh Talwandi’s book was conducted. Along with the presiding committee, notable participants included Lal Singh Sulhani, Om Prakash Saroye, Gurdial Singh Virk, Prof. Kuldeep, Rajeev Khayal, Dr Jagdeep Singh Sandhu, District Language Officer, Dr Rameshwar Katara, and Sukhdev Singh Bhatti. The gathered writers and readers congratulated the author on this initial effort.
Discussing the book, Om Prakash Saroye provided detailed information about the creation process of the book. Dr. Jagdeep Singh Sandhu highlighted the important comparative analysis of the economic and political conditions of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Punjab presented in the travelogue. Prof. Kuldeep praised the poetic language of the book.
Prof. Gurtej Koharwala emphasized the artistic nature of the writing, stating that in the current era, where all types of information are available on the internet, it is the artistic touch that connects readers with the work.
Er, Shingaar Singh Talwandi welcomed the points raised during the discussion and assured that he would consider these suggestions in his future writings.
In his concluding speech, Prof. Jaspal Ghai summed up the discussion by stating that "Dakhan Di Yatra" raises many questions. Despite the proximity of the borders of Kerala and Tamil Nadu, the differences in their political and social conditions are perplexing.
The two-and-a-half-hour event also saw participation from Harish Monga, Prof. Sukhwinder Josh, Prof. Gurvinder, Kamal Sharma, Engineer Harmel Singh Khosa, Ashok Captain, Karamjit Singh, Engineer Manohar Lal, Jabbar Mahla, Engineer Mulk Raj, Amarseer Singh, Tarlochan Chopra, Sukhdev Singh, Pratham, and other intellectuals, and literature enthusiasts. Lal Singh Sulhani thanked the guests for their presence.
