Trident Group reinforces commitment to healthy, safe workplaces with anti-drug awareness drive

Chandigarh, June 26, 2025:Trident Group observed the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26, 2025, aligning its initiatives with the global theme “Break the Cycle. #StopOrganizedCrime.”
The company conducted awareness workshops across its plant locations in Punjab at Barnala, Sanghera and Madhya Pradesh at Budhni plant locations, aiming to promote healthier lifestyles and raise awareness of the harmful effects of drug abuse.
The Special session at the Sanghera plant was conducted by Dr. Gagandeep Singh Sekhon from Civil Hospital, Barnala. Dr. Sekhon highlighted that addiction often begins with small doses, gradually turning into serious dependency.
He elaborated on the devastating impact drug abuse can have on families, including financial instability and long-term emotional distress.
Employees were educated on the early signs and symptoms of addiction — such as behavioral and emotional changes — and encouraged to make healthier lifestyle choices through regular physical activity, sports, and community engagement.
In his address, Dr. Sekhon urged participants to look out for one another and foster a culture of vigilance and empathy, reinforcing that combating addiction is a shared responsibility. Employees at both locations took an active part in the sessions and appreciated the informative and engaging dialogue.
This initiative reflects Trident Group's ongoing commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and socially responsible work environment. It also supports the broader global effort to tackle drug abuse and disrupt the cycle of organized crime.
More than 250 employees attended the workshop at Sanghera. Such sessions are conducted regularly throughout the year as part of company's ongoing 'Nasha Mukt i ' campaign, including observances like World Tobacco Day, alongside periodic medical health check-ups for all employees.
