"Dream big, work hard, and above all, be a good human being," said Rajya Sabha MP and former National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma while addressing students at the second edition of CU Scholars’ Summit 2025 at Chandigarh University. Sharma, the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony of Day 2, emphasized nation-first thinking and highlighted the changing nature of politics under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Politics is no longer about power or money. It’s about public service,” she said, adding that for a Viksit Bharat (Developed India), both personal growth and societal contribution are essential. She praised the government’s youth-centric schemes such as Skill India, Digital India, PM Mudra Yojana, and Make in India for fostering entrepreneurship and creating job creators.
Also present on the occasion was Rajya Sabha MP and Chancellor of Chandigarh University, Satnam Singh Sandhu, who said, “Our greatest investment is in our students and their talent. Chandigarh University was founded with the vision of creating a world-class institution, and in just 13 years, we have emerged as a leader in global rankings, sports, research, and placements.”
