CGC Landran Hosts Five-Day FDP on Future-Ready Skills and Emerging Technologies
Mohali, July 17, 2025 –
The Departments of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology at Chandigarh Engineering College (CEC-CGC), in collaboration with the Department of CSE at Chandigarh Group of Colleges, College of Engineering (CGC-COE), Landran, successfully organized a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “Future Ready Skills: Embracing Innovation in Emerging Technologies.”
The FDP aimed to equip faculty with cutting-edge knowledge in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), cybersecurity, automation, and digital transformation. The event featured a diverse range of sessions led by prominent academicians and industry experts.
Dr. R.K. Aggarwal from NIT Kurukshetra inaugurated the FDP with a comprehensive session on AI, ML, deep learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Computer Vision. Dr. Abhiav Bhandari from Punjabi University, Patiala, discussed Agentic and Generative AI in cybersecurity, highlighting proactive AI-driven security frameworks.

The concluding day featured TEDx speaker and technopreneur Mr. Manmeet Singh Bhatti, who spoke on “Automation and Robotics: Skills for the Workforce of Tomorrow,” emphasizing the need for hands-on training and curriculum alignment with industrial automation trends.
The FDP concluded with a valedictory session attended by Dr. Anuj Gupta, Director-Principal, CGC-COE; Dr. Sushil Kamboj, HOD, CSE, CGC-COE; Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur, HOD, CSE and Dr. Amanpreet Kaur, HOD, IT, CEC-CGC. They lauded the initiative for bridging the gap between academia and industry, and highlighted the importance of continual faculty upskilling to meet evolving technological demands.
The program successfully empowered educators with future-ready competencies, real-world insights, and interdisciplinary collaboration opportunities to enrich teaching and research practices.
