Young Voters Awareness Seminar held under SVEEP Plan
Ferozepur, April 2, 2024: Under the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) programme, the Young Voters Awareness Seminar – to celebrate democracy through young voters, was held at Aggarwal Nursing College, Guruharsahai.
Present on this occasion were, Managing Director Dr Pawan Aggarwal, Principal Rimpal Kaur, District SVEEP Coordinator Dr Satinder Singh, Election Kanungo Gagandeep.
Lok Sabha polls are being held in Punjab in June, under this objective and aspects of the main target through the SVEEP plan of the Election Commission of India, a voter awareness seminar was on the topic of 'Role of youth in democracy' ahead of the Lok Sabha elections-2024.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pawan Aggarwal said, I feel honoured being a voter of India, the world's largest democratic country. He said that every vote is equally important to preserve the rich democratic heritage. The main speakers of this awareness seminar, Assistant Prof. Ashok Kumar, Deepak Sharman, Parvinder Singh, and Rinkle Munjal while addressing the students explained the importance of voting in depth.
Naib Tehsildar Jai Amandeep Goyal in his message to the youth to vote, encouraged for more judicious use of mandatory and large turnout by identifying low voting areas. The points raised by the brilliant young students of the college, Ranjit Singh, and Harmandeep Kaur through the speech and the song of Mandeep Kaur, the possessor of the booming voice, touched the heights of voter motivation. Teaching faculty members Madam Lakhbir Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Satveer Kaur, Sunita Rani, Bhavna, Surinder Kumar, and Karanveer Singh Soudhi participated in this event.
