Who is Disha Ravi ? Why Delhi Police arrested her in 'Tool Kit' controversy ?
New Delhi, February 14, 2021: A month back, 21-year-old Disha Ravi from Bengaluru was only known for organizing climate change awareness campaigns under Fridays for Future, a campaign founded by Swedish climate change activist 15-year-old Greta Thunberg.
Other than giving occasional interviews to media outlets, the student at Mount Carmel College was living a low-key but life took an unexpected turn for her this month and it all started with a tweet by Greta on ongoing farmers' protest in which she also shared a document 'Tool kit' but later deleted.
On Sunday, when students of her age were celebrating Valentine’s Day, Ravi found herself crying inside the courtroom, defending herself by stating that she only edited two lines of the controversial ‘Tool kit’ document with the intent to support the ongoing farmers' protest.
Even a social media user shared with handle name Sanitary panel shared that Disha has been fighting for climate change for days and the world needs more like Disha Nodeep.
But Delhi Police disagrees!
"Disha Ravi is an editor of the Toolkit Google Doc and a key conspirator in document's formulation and dissemination. She started a WhatsApp group and collaborated to make the Toolkit doc. She worked closely with them to draft the Doc," tweeted Delhi Police on Sunday.
According to CyPAD Delhi Police, the editors of the toolkit collaborated with the pro-Khalistani Poetic Justice Foundation to spread disaffection against the Indian State. Ravi was the one who shared the Toolkit Doc with Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg.
Ravi later asked Thunberg to remove the main document after its incriminating details accidentally got into the public domain, said Delhi Police. While Disha Ravi has been sent to judicial custody for five days, there has been an outpour of support for Ravi.
Here how Greta expressed support to farmers' protest.
I still #StandWithFarmers and support their peaceful protest.
No amount of hate, threats or violations of human rights will ever change that. #FarmersProtest

Take a look at how the internet reacted to Disha’s arrest:
Disha Ravi broke down in court room and told judge that she had merely edited two lines in the toolkit and was supporting farmers. What is wrong in that? This is how this nation treats anyone who spreads awareness. #FarmersProtest

Let this sink in: A 21-yr old climate activist is a 'threat' to this govt. #Disharavi has been arrested under sedition, criminal conspiracy and promoting hatred for editing and sharing #GretaThunberg 'toolkit'. Meanwhile, ppl like #KapilMishra #KomalSharma are still free.

#GretaThunberg couldn't have imagined that her tweet in support of India's fighting farmers would rattle the Modi regime so badly. The #GretaThunbergToolkit case has now led to an arrest! The world must be laughing! Release activist #DishaRavi immediately. https://t.co/trPSqz3YFB
