Mohali DC instructs drainage officials to keep regular check on water flow in Ghaggar river
Flow at normal level, no need to panic, DC to Residents

SAS Nagar, September 11, 2024: In the wake of heavy rainfall in the higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh resulted in some elevation in water levels, yesterday, Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain asked the Drainage Department Officials for continuous monitoring of the Bhankarpur gauge of Ghaggar river.
Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain further said that the residents residing on the banks of Ghaggar need not panic as the Administration is observing the situation continuously and now the water level that was measured at 5 feet yesterday has receded to normal.
She said that as per the reports gathered from the Drainage officials the increased level of water flow has not caused any damage in the area.
DC Jain said that the Sub Divisional Magistrate Himanshu Gupta and Drainage Officials have been asked to keep extra care in flood-prone areas of Ghaggar falling in Derabassi Sub Division.
She said that in case of any emergency, district control room number 0172- 2219506 can be contacted immediately which works round the clock.
