Former Additional Advocate General’s wife brutally murdered in Mohali

Mohali (Punjab), December 31, 2025: Incidents of murder and robbery continue unabated in Punjab. In a shocking incident reported from Mohali, the wife of a former Additional Advocate General was brutally murdered at her residence.
The deceased was the wife of former Additional Advocate General Ashok Goel and was residing in Phase-5, Mohali. According to reports, at the time of the murder, the household servant was tied to a chair.
As per preliminary information, the woman was strangled to death. Police officials stated that the murder appears to have been committed with the intention of robbery. The assailants allegedly tied up the servant, looted jewellery and cash from the house, and then fled the scene.
Former Additional Advocate General Ashok Goel is currently in Muscat to visit his daughter. Considering the servant’s role to be suspicious, the police have taken him into custody and begun questioning.
The servant has been identified as Neeraj, aged around 25, who had been working for the Goel family for the past nine years.
