Highlighting the ongoing modernization drive, DGP Yadav said the Punjab government has spent over ₹800 crore on police upgrades in the past three years, including new vehicles for SP-rank officers, and modernized police stations and posts.
A ₹426 crore mega police building project has been approved for the next three years, covering new headquarters for Cyber Crime in Mohali, police lines in Nawanshahr and Malerkotla, eleven new police stations, and upgraded ANTF offices in Ludhiana, Ferozepur, and Jalandhar.
