Ferozepur Police registers record ‘Anti-Drug and Crime Control Achievements’ in 2025

Ferozepur, December 31, 2025: The Ferozepur District Police of Punjab Police has recorded exceptional achievements in its fight against drugs, organised crime and illegal activities during the year 2025, reflecting the impact of sustained enforcement under the state government’s “Yudh Nasheyan Virudh” campaign.
Sharing the annual performance report for the period from January 1 to December 30, 2025, Bhupinder Singh, SSP, said the achievements were the result of clear directions from the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Director General of Police, Punjab, coupled with strong teamwork across all ranks of the district police.
He said, the district police registered 1,617 cases under the NDPS Act and arrested 2,013 accused, achieving record recoveries including 266.085 kg of heroin, 56.592 kg of opium, 1,362.577 kg of poppy husk, 21.600 kg of ganja and 9,74,797 intoxicant tablets and capsules, besides recovering drug and hawala money amounting to ₹1.40 crore.
He further said, the police also took strong action against drug smugglers by attaching properties worth ₹10.45 crore in 30 confirmed cases under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, while 35 cases involving assets worth about ₹11 crore were sent to the competent authority. To ensure transparency and prevent misuse, 219 NDPS cases were disposed of during the year, including the destruction of large quantities of contraband, and 64 vehicles seized in NDPS cases were auctioned, fetching over ₹11.10 lakh.
In addition, under the Excise Act, Ferozepur Police registered 112 cases and arrested 116 accused, recovering 2,847.285 litres of illicit liquor, 1,568.500 litres of licit liquor, 43,650 kg of lahan and dismantling three working stills.
Action under the Arms Act led to the registration of 52 cases and the arrest of 68 persons, with the recovery of 104 illegal weapons, including pistols, revolvers, an AK-47, guns, magazines and cartridges.
The police also made significant progress in tackling vehicle theft by solving 36 cases, arresting 61 accused and recovering 70 stolen vehicles.
SSP said, due to proactive policing, street crimes such as snatching and petty theft have reduced by nearly 60–70 per cent in the district. They also credited the morale of the force to incentives such as commendation discs and cash rewards announced by the DGP Punjab.
The Ferozepur Police reiterated its commitment to remain fully alert and responsive to public needs, assuring citizens that strict action against drugs and crime will continue with the same intensity in the coming year.
