Breaking: PM Modi arrives in Jalandhar, to inaugurate New Jalandhar Cantt Railway Station and flag off Sant Ravidas Express

Jalandhar (Punjab), July 17, 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Jalandhar on Friday as part of his Punjab visit, where he is scheduled to inaugurate the newly developed Jalandhar Cantonment Railway Station and dedicate it to the nation.
The Prime Minister will also flag off the Sant Ravidas Express, marking another key development in the region's railway infrastructure.
Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place by the district administration and the Railways for the Prime Minister's visit. Security personnel have been deployed at key locations around the railway station and along the designated route to ensure smooth conduct of the programme.
The inauguration of the modernised railway station is expected to enhance passenger amenities and strengthen rail connectivity in the region.
Residents and BJP supporters gathered at the venue to welcome the Prime Minister, with the administration expecting a large turnout for the event. The visit is part of a series of development initiatives being launched by the Prime Minister in Punjab.
