10th National Ayurveda Day event held in Ferozepur on theme Ayurveda for One Health – People and Planet
132 kg Amla Murabba Given, 264 Families Guided on Post-Flood Health
Ferozepur, September 24: The 10th National Ayurveda Day was celebrated in Ferozepur under the guidance of Dr. Ravi Doomra, Director, Punjab Ayurveda Department, and the leadership of Dr. Rupinderdeep Gill, District Ayurvedic & Unani Officer. The theme for this year’s observance was “Ayurveda for One Health – People and Planet.”
Retired District Ayurvedic & Unani Officer Dr. Navdeep Singh Brar attended as a special guest. The program began with a traditional puja to Lord Dhanvantari, regarded as the deity of medicine.
Welcoming the chief guest, Dr. Sumit emphasized the relevance of Ayurveda in modern times: “Ayurveda is not only India’s ancient system of medicine but a holistic approach to health that strengthens immunity and connects people with nature. Observing Ayurveda Day reminds us to integrate these time-tested practices into our daily lives for a healthier society and a sustainable planet.”
Following the ceremony, health awareness drives were carried out in flood-affected villages including Nayi Gatti Rajo Ke, Jallo Ke Uthar, Basti Bhane Wali, Kamale Wala 59, and nearby areas. Around 264 families were educated on preventing post-flood diseases and strengthening immunity. Teams distributed Ayurvedic medicines and wellness products such as Giloyvati, Tulsi Drops, eye drops, Ayurvedic cough syrup, and Amla Murabba door-to-door.
Dr. Rakesh Grover shared that about 132 kg of Amla Murabba along with other immunity-boosting remedies were distributed through specially formed teams comprising.
