Jagraon, December 13, 2018: “May be late, he and his heavenly wife, have a hope of getting suitable justice at last”, said Sukhwinder Singh alias Mithu Kaunke husband of Canadian Punjabi woman Jaswinder Jassi, murdered 18 years back in Sangrur district.
He said the waiting became very long. He and his family had to suffer many troubles and ups and downs but there was no other option than to fight and except waiting to get justice.
Commenting on the latest decision by the Supreme Court of Canada to convict the accused in Jassi’s honour killing – Jassi’s mother and Mama – under India Extradition Treaty, Mithu informed the Babushahu.com that he had some satisfaction with this news. He expressed hope that Indian courts will do justice in this case and Jassi’s killer will get adequate punishment.
Mithu specially thanked the then DSP Swaran Singh in Punjab Police who investigated and finalized this case. He said, he will be indebted to Swaran Singh, who did not sidetrack from the truth despite many pressures.
Added here, the Canadian Supreme Court ordered the extradition of both Jassi’s mother Malkit Kaur Sidhu, 65 and Uncle Surjit Singh Badesha, 70, to India so that the Punjab Police could proceed legally in the murdered cases registered against them, in India.
However, after the official information from the Canadian government, the Punjab Police team will visit Canada to bring the two main accused to India.
