PAU students win silver at 38th AIU National Youth Festival, showcasing excellence in cultural talent

Ludhiana (Punjab), March 12, 2025: Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, continues to excel beyond academics, making a mark in cultural activities at the national level.
After securing top positions at the Zonal Youth Festival, PAU students carried forward their winning streak at the 38th AIU Inter-University National Youth Festival by clinching the Silver Medal in the Installation Event.
The prestigious festival, organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Ministry of Sports & Youth Affairs, Government of India, was held from March 3-7, 2025, at Amity University, Noida (UP).
PAU Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, congratulated the students on their remarkable achievements, emphasizing the university’s commitment to holistic student development beyond academics and research.
He highlighted PAU’s dedication to nurturing talent and ensuring active participation in national and international competitions that allow students to showcase their skills.
Dr. Nirmal Jaura, Director of Students’ Welfare, commended the dedication of the students and the team in-charges who worked tirelessly to prepare them for the event. Dr. K.S. Suri, Joint Director Students Welfare, lauded the festival’s role in honing students’ creative potential while fostering team spirit and camaraderie.
Providing details of the participation, Dr. Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director (Culture), shared that PAU first secured a Silver Medal at the 38th AIU Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival, held at Panjab University, Chandigarh, in February. Following this win, the Installation Event team represented both North Zone and PAU at the National Youth Festival.
The PAU contingent was led by Contingent In-Charges, Sh. Satvir Singh (Registering Officer, PAU) and Ms. Kanchandeep Kaur (Teaching Assistant, COCS, PAU), who provided logistical and moral support to the students throughout the competition. Sh. Satvir Singh, Team Manager, revealed that 148 universities from across India participated in the five-day event, competing in various cultural disciplines.
The PAU Installation Event team comprised Ms. Tisha, Ms. Harsimran Kaur, Mr. Divyansh Verma (students from the College of Community Science), and Ms. Surmeet Kaur (student from the College of Agriculture). Their creativity and artistic expression earned them national recognition.
The achievement was widely celebrated, with Dr. Vishal Bector (President, UDDMC, PAU), Dr. Sharanbir Kaur Bal (President, DDMC, COCS), Dr. Kamaldeep Singh Sangha (President, DDMC, COA), Dr. Karan Bir Singh (President, DDMC, COHF), Dr. Gurnaz Gill (President, DDMC, COAET), and Dr. Suman Kumari (President, DDMC, COBSH) extending their congratulations to the students for bringing laurels to PAU.
