PAU holds industry-institution interaction for Agribusiness students

Ludhiana (Punjab), March 27, 2025: A delegation from Bayer Crop Science, comprising Dr Malwinder Singh Malhi, an Agricultural Consultant, and Mr Rohit Chauhan, Product Campaign Manager, along with the team, visited the School of Business Studies (SBS), Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) to interact with the final-year students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Agri-Business Management, preparing to undergo their industrial training.
This session aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the corporate world, industry expectations, and the significance of hands-on training in shaping their future careers.
During the interactive session, Chauhan shared his extensive industry experience and highlighted the crucial role that industrial training played in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical implementation.He emphasized the importance of developing a strong professional attitude, acquiring technical expertise, and adapting to real-world business environments.
His words inspired students to make the most of their training by actively engaging with industry professionals and gaining a deeper understanding of agribusiness operations.
Accompanying him, Dr Malhi elaborated the need for industry exposure in academic curricula. He explained how industrial training provided students with a simulated environment where they could function, learn, and enhance their problem-solving abilities.
He encouraged students to observe, analyze, and absorb industry best practices, which would eventually help them in their professional journeys.
Dr Ramandeep Singh, Director, the School of Business Studies, emphasized the importance of discipline, dedication, and perseverance in ensuring a successful industrial training experience.
He encouraged the students to approach their training with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn, as these qualities would help them excel in their professional journeys.
He also highlighted the need to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations, enabling students to develop a deeper understanding of market dynamics, industry trends, and business operations.
Additionally, Dr Navdeep Aggarwal, Professor in charge of Summer training, provided students with a comprehensive overview of the final industrial report.
He explained the essential components of the report, including structure, content, and presentation. He also outlined the expectations from students during and after their training.Dr Sukhmani and Dr R Rathore’s guidance aimed to help students showcase their learnings in a well-organized and professional manner.
Another session by Dr KK Raina, former Director of Students’ Welfare, Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, guided the students and motivated them for continuous practical learning with zeal to contribute to agrarian society in a professional way.Dr Rathore proposed vote of thanks.
