United Panjab Folk Art workshop, exhibition and seminar at Kapal Mochan from Nov 6–9

Chandigarh, February 8, 2026: Panjab Digital Library, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Sri Guru Harkrishan International Center of Excellence for Museum Education, Jagadhari, and the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Government of Haryana, will organise a four-day National Art Workshop-cum-Exhibition and Seminar on Folk Art and Culture of United Panjab at Kapal Mochan, Bilaspur (Haryana) from November 6 to 9, 2011.
The event will be held under the guidance of renowned museum scholar Dr. P.C. Sharma and digitisation expert Davinder Pal Singh, Executive Director of Panjab Digital Library. It will form part of the grand celebrations of the nationally acclaimed Kapal Mochan Mela, organised on the eve of the birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
The programme will focus on the history, art, culture and architecture of United Panjab, with special emphasis on folk art traditions. National and international artists will participate in an art workshop, while a one-day academic seminar on Sikh history, folklore and Panjab’s cultural heritage will also be organised during the event.
Organisers expect 7 to 8 lakh visitors to attend the Kapal Mochan Mela during the four-day programme.
To share details of the event, a press conference will be held at 3:30 PM at Panjab Digital Library, Plot No. 1, Madhya Marg, Sector 28-A, Chandigarh.
