Chandigarh, September 16,2018 - Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that the SAD would hold a massive public rally in chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh’s home town Patiala on the very day he proposed to hold a Congress rally in Lambi.
In a statement here, Mr Badal said the huge public response to the Pol Khol rallies of the SAD at Abohar and Faridkot had unnerved Capt Amarinder Singh and he had now announced to hold a rally at Lambi in a desperate attempt to revive himself politically. “While we welcome the fact that we have forced Capt Amarinder Singh to finally go to the people, we will continue to take him and his government to task for using repressive means to try to cow down the SAD. We will hold a huge rally in Amarinder’s home town and expose him throughly before his constituents by presenting a report card of his party and government to them”.
Stating the twin rallies of Abohar and Faridkot had made Amarinder realise the value of democracy and the might of the people, the SAD president said the CM had now realised that the people of the State have turned against him and now he is desperate to win them back. “Going to the people after shunning them for one and a half years will not save your sinking ship”, he added.
Speaking about the SAD Patiala rally, Mr Badal said it would be held on the same day as the Lambi rally. “We will show your (Amarinder) constituents your true character. We will show them how you reneged on your promise to waive of all farmer loans worth Rs 90,000 crore. We will show them how you committed the biggest sacrilege possible by swearing an oath on the Gutka Sahib which you did not keep”.
Mr Badal said the SAD would also blow the lid over the Congress conspiracy with radical elements along with proof of the same. “We will tell the people of Patiala how their MLA has got involved in a conspiracy with radical forces which has the potential of destroying peace and communal harmony in the State and taking it back to the dark era of terrorism”.
