IKGPTU hosts "GRIP 3.0" program for grassroots innovators of Punjab
University Organized event by joint efforts of Punjab State Council for Science and Technology & Environment and National Innovation Foundation

Kapurthala (Punjab), February 16, 2025: The "GRIP 3.0" program was inaugurated on Thursday at I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG PTU) main campus Kapurthala. It is a joint participation of the University along with the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology & Environment, Govt. of Punjab (PSCST), National Innovation Foundation (NIF), Department of Science and Technology and Environment (DST&E) Govt. of India.
This program was to empower the grassroot innovators of Punjab. IKGPTU Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Susheel Mittal, Registrar Dr S.K. Misra and other institutions of the organizing committee jointly inaugurated the event.
Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Mittal was the chief guest, while the Registrar Dr S.K Misra was the special guest in the event.
In the opening session of the program, PSCST scientist Dr Manpreet Singh said that the Punjab government, in collaboration with the Government of India, has launched the "GRIP 3.0" program with the aim of encouraging people doing unique innovative work at the grassroots level. In this, the participation of educational institutions has been kept to promote innovators and innovation.
He said that in this, work is being done to reach innovation and innovators through Panch - Sarpanch at the rural level.
As the chief guest, Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Susheel Mittal praised the "GRIP 3.0" program. He said that both innovation and innovators act as a guide for the students. Such events are very important to be held in higher educational institutions.
The special guest Registrar Dr. S.K. Misra congratulated the organizing committee for this event. He described such programs being run at the national level by the Government of India as an initiative in the interest of "Sashakt Bharat 2047".
He said that there is no dearth of innovators in the country, the need is to provide them a platform through such events, so that they can make the new generation innovative too.
Motivational speaker Dr. Charan Kamal also addressed the program. The welcome speech was given by Dr. M.S. Bedi (Assistant Director I.K.G.P.T.U). Rai Singh Raju (Gun Cleaning Machine), Dr. Greesh Sapra (Green Brigade - Waste Machine) performed well in the Rural Innovation Show. During this, Sarpanchs of nearby villages also arrived.
In the end the vote of thanks was read by Dr. Neelkanth Grover (Head BIC-IKGPTU).
