Journalists stage protest outside Delhi Police headquarters, demand release of Punia
Chandigarh, January 31, 2021: A day after freelance journalist Mandeep Punia was detained by Delhi police from Singhu border, the media fraternity has come in the support of the journalist presently in police custody. On Sunday, journalist staged protest infront of Delhi police headquarters demanding release of Mandeep Punia.
The protesting media persons said that attack on journlaists will not be tolerated.
Punia has been arrested for allegedly misbehaving with police personnel on duty and obstructing police servant. An FIR under the IPC section 186 (obstructing public servant in the discharge of public functions) and section 353 (assaulting a public servant in the execution of duty) has been filed against Poonia at Alipur police station.
