DCs and police officers of Fazilka, Sriganganagar hold inter-state coordination meeting to stop movement of criminals, drugs and money

Fazilka, March 23, 2024: A joint meeting of Fazilka, Sri Ganganagar, and Hanumangarh districts was held here today to coordinate efforts at the interstate level to stop the movement of criminals, drugs and money power into the neighboring states during the Lok Sabha elections.
This meeting was presided over by Fazilka Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal. Shri Ganganagar District Collector Lok Bandhu, SP Shri Ganganagar Gaurav Yadav besides senior officials of Fazilka and Hanumangarh districts were present in this meeting.
On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Senu Duggal said that the purpose of this meeting is to prevent anti-social elements from influencing the elections. He said that it is necessary that there should be better coordination between police, excise and other departments.
He said that to stop the interstate flow of anti-social elements, a blockade is being imposed on the border of Punjab and Rajasthan and this blockade will be under the surveillance of CCTV cameras.
24 posts are being set up on the border. Apart from this, the movement of liquor and other intoxicants from one state to another will also be strictly prohibited.
Ganganagar District Collector Shri Lok Badhu said that the 48 km border of Ganganagar district and 18 km border of Hanumangarh are with Punjab and anti-social elements will not be allowed to cross from here to each other state. He stressed the need to share information among themselves and said that with mutual interaction it becomes very easy to root out bad elements.
Bikaner IG Shri Om Prakash also joined this meeting through video conference and said that if there is better coordination between the two districts from outpost level to SSP level, then there will be no problem in conducting peaceful elections.
SP Ganganagar Shri Gaurav Yadav said that along with the blockade, the police of both states will also conduct joint operations against anti-social elements and exchange information with each other.
The excise department said they will also inform each other about the movement of Permitsudha liquor and if there is any information about illegal smuggling, it will also be shared between them.
Fazilka's Additional Deputy Commissioner Development Amarendra Singh Malhi, SDM Abohar Mr. Pankaj Bansal, SDM Fazilka Mr. Vipan Kumar, SDM Jalalabad Mr. Balkaran Singh, SP (Operation) Fazilka Mr. Karanveer Singh, SDM Sangaria Rakesh Kumar Meena were also present on the occasion.
