Haryana Police Chief reviews preparations for Lok Sabha elections

Chandigarh, April 1, 2024- Haryana Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur, convened a video conference today with senior police officers across the state to review preparations for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha general elections and ensure free, fair, and peaceful voting.
Kapur emphasised the importance of clear understanding among officers regarding their duties for a smooth and peaceful election process.
Emphasizing Collective Responsibility-
During the meeting, Kapur highlighted that the Lok Sabha elections in Haryana are scheduled for May 25th, emphasising the collective responsibility of all stakeholders to ensure a smooth electoral process.
Ensuring Officer Preparedness-
He conducted a thorough review of election preparations, including measures to uphold the model code of conduct, with senior police officers. Stressing the need for every officer to be well-versed in their duties before and during the elections, Kapur reiterated the importance of addressing any doubts or queries promptly.
Directive for Audits and Security Measures-
Kapur directed District Superintendents of Police to conduct thorough audits of their respective police forces. This is crucial as additional manpower will be required on the day before and the day of the elections.
The meeting also addressed the importance of installing high-quality CCTV cameras at checkpoints established on interstate borders.

Additionally, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Sh. Sanjay Kumar shared his insights on election duty and stressed the importance of following
Election Commission
During the meeting, Inspector General Ambala, Sh. Sibash Kabiraj, delivered a detailed presentation outlining key aspects of election preparedness and the model code of conduct.
Kabiraj provided updates on the training of police personnel at various levels and emphasised the deployment of specialised teams such as the Static Surveillance Team, Flying Squad Team, and Quick Response Team.
He stressed the importance of meticulous reporting during elections and urged the timely development of effective communication plans by Superintendents of Police to streamline the deployment of police force guidelines.
Stressing Adherence to Election Commission Directives-
The Director General of Police stressed and directed everyone to ensure that the instructions issued by the Election Commission are followed in letter and spirit.
Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order Sh. Sanjay Kumar, Additional Director General of Police Modernization Sh. Amitabh Dhillon, IG Law and Order Sh. Hardeep Doon, AIG Admin Smt. Manisha Choudhary, AIG Provisioning Sh. Kamaldeep Goyal remained present during the meeting.
