Islamabad, February 26,2019: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had summoned an emergency consultative meeting at the Foreign office in Islamabad after it was claimed that Indian Air Force fighter jets crossed Line of Control (LoC) and returned after dropping a payload in Pakistan.
As per a report in Geo Tv, Qureshi also said that Pakistan holds the right to self-defence and a befitting response to Indian aggression, after Indian military aircraft violated LoC earlier today as they intruded from the Muzaffarabad sector but were forced to return owing to the timely response of the Pakistan Air Force.
“We kept on telling the world that this could happen… they [India] carried out aggression against Pakistan today. India violated the LoC [today]. Pakistan holds the right to self-defence and a befitting response,” Qureshi told media as per Geo Tv.
The meeting at the Foreign Office was attended by former foreign secretaries and senior diplomats, and held consultations over the prevailing situation.
"Indian aircraft intrusion across LoC in Muzafarabad Sector within AJK was 3-4 miles. Under forced hasty withdrawal aircraft released payload which had free fall in open area. No infrastructure got hit, no casualties. Technical details and other important information to follow," Pakistan Army spokesman Major General Ghafoor wrote on Twitter.
