Chandigarh resident IAF Officer died in Budgam chopper crash
Squadron Leader Siddharth Vashisth was among the six air force jajwans who died after a Mi-17 V5 helicopter of the Indian Air Force (IAF) crashed in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday morning.
Chandigarh, Feb 27, 2019 : IAF Officer Siddharth Vashisht, killed Budgam chopper cash on Wednesday was a resident of Chandigarh. Although The family hails from Hamidpur village in Naraingarh, Ambala, where Siddharth’s 78-year-old grandmother Kanta Devi lives but Siddharth was brought up and studied in Chandigarh. His family was living in House no 66-C of sector 44 in the capital city. Squadron leader Siddharth was 31year old.He is survived with his wife and two and two year old son Angad .
Sidharth studied in Shivalik Public School and DAV College in Chandigarh and joined the air force in 2010 after clearing the Combined Defence Services exam.
In July last year he was posted to Srinagar and his wife Arti who is also a Squadron leader in IAF ,was also posted there. Siddarth was youngest in the family as she had three elder sisters and his great grandfather and grandfather besides his father had also served in the defence forces.
Another IAF personnel, Vikrant Sehrawat who died in the helicopter crash this morning also belonged to Haryana . He was the resident of Badhani village in Jhajjar. He is survived by his wife and two children.
