Chandigarh, March 2,2019: IAF wing commander Abhinandan Varthaman who returned to India through Wagah on Friday was seen accompanying a woman in most of the pictures. Abhinandan was accompanied by Dr Fariha Bugti, a 2005-batch Foreign Service of Pakistan officer who is presently in charge of handling India affairs at Pakistan’s Foreign office. Bhugti accompanied Abhinandan till zero line.
A resident of Balochistan, Bugti is the only woman officer working in The Foreign Ministry of Pakistan.
Dr Fariha Bugti is one of the most distinguished officers who is responsible for looking after and diplomatically handling complicated Indo-Pak cases.
Bugti is also looking into the case of Kulbhushan Jadhav, who is in Pakistan captivity and has been accused of being an Indian spy.
IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was arrested by Pakistan army on Wednesday when his MiG-21 Bison crashed in an air strike by Pakistan.
