Narendra Modi elected leader NDA Parliamentary Party.
New Delhi, May 25, 2019 - Mr Narendra Modi was unanimously elected as the Leader of the BJP Parliamentary party and the NDA on Saturday.
The name of Mr Modi as BJP Parliamentary party leader was proposed by party president Amit Shah, which was seconded by senior leaders Nitin Gadkari and Rajnath Singh.
Mr Modi's name was again proposed as the NDA leader by SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal, which was
endorsed by JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, LJP head Ram Vilas Paswan, AIADMK co-convenor Edappadi Palaniswami, among other heads of allies.
Party veterans L K Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi were also present at the first NDA meet after the victory of Team Modi in Parliament’s Central Hall.
The BJP national president welcomed and congratulated Mr Modi soon after he was chosen as BJP Parliamentary Party chief and NDA leader.
The exercise is being described as a mere formality as incumbent Prime Minister Mr Modi was the PM candidate of the ruling alliance for the general elections 2019.
Now, Mr Modi will stake claim with President Ram Nath Kovind formally in the evening to form new government.
