Raman Bahl says Modi wave badly failed in Punjab Gurdaspur:Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board chairman Raman Bahl said here today that Modi wave badly failed in Punjab due to strong leadership of Punjab chief minister Capt.Amarinder Singh. Bahl asserted that Congress won 8 out of the total of 13 seats of Lok Sabha in the state and maintained lead in 69 of the total of 117 assembly constituencies during the current general elections. Bahl remarked that after the recent Parliamentary elections in Punjab,Capt.Amarinder Singh has emerged as one of the strongest Congress leaders in the country. Bahl justified Capt.Amarinder Singh 's stand on Punjab Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu's hugging the Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa during his visit to Pakistan gave wrong signals to the Indian Army and the People of India. Bahl claimed that the people of Punjab believed in the policies and programmes of the Capt.Amarinder Singh Government. Bahl urged the central leadership of the Indian National Congress to utilize services of Capt.Amarinder Singh for the revival of the Congress across the nation. Bahl pointed out that in the recent Lok Sabha polls the BJP had almost a clean sweep in Punjab' neighbouring states namely Haryana,Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan whereas it failed to adversely affect the ruling Congress in Punjab. Bahl expressed that in the 2019 general elections,Punjabis have once again given their mandate in favour of Congress and its leader Capt.Amarinder Singh. Bahl claimed that the interests of the Punjab state and its people are safe in the hands of Capt.Amarinder Singh.
