Congress Ex-MLA expelled for praising Modi
Delhi, June 4, 2019: The Congress has expelled its senior leader from Kerala – AP Abdullakutty – on praising Narendra Modi on the social media.
When served a show-cause notice, the two-time Congress legislator was removed from party as he failed to five a satisfactory explanation for his action. He had pointed out that Modi is following the Gandian model of governance.
Abdullakutty had said in the media that I had backed Modi only on development and time will prove that my stand is right.
Abdullakutty had joined the Congress in 2009 when he was expelled by the CPM for exhorting the LDF-rule Keral government to follow the development mode of the Gujarat CM Modi. He was a CPM MP from 1999 to 2009. He won the Assembly bypoll in 2009 and the Assembly election in 2011. Congress denied him ticket for Lok Sabha polls 2019.
