Condemns MP Aujla statement holding farmers responsible for shortage of fertilizer
Farmers protest on rail tracks enters 8th day, disrupts 122 trains
Ferozepur, December 27, 2021: The farmers protest started on December 20, under the banner of Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) today entered 8th day on the railway tracks near Basti Tankan Wali and condemned the statement of MP Gurjit Singh Aujla from Amritsar holding farmers responsible for the shortage of fertilizers. The protesting farmers burn the effigy of MP on the railway track.
Due to the protest on the railway tracks, 93 trains have been cancelled while 29 have to be cancelled in between, said the DRM Ferozepur.
Addressing the protesters, State Vice President, Jasbir Singh Pidhi, District President, Inderjit Singh Bath said, despite assurance by Dy. CM Randhawa, neither meeting with CM has been arranged nor there is any solution to the demands of the farmers.
The farmers have been compelled to come on tracks to register their protest over demands even in the chilly weather conditions.
Later, the farmers also burn the effigy of MP Gurjit Singh Aujla from Amritsar who has held responsible the farmers for the shortage of fertilizers in the state.
We still hold good our demands like compensation of Rs.17,000 per acre to farmers whose crop was damaged due to hailstorm, compensation of Rs.10000 for the lands beyond the border fencing which has not been received for the last four years, allotment of 5 marla plots to the workers, ex-gratia to the family members of farmers who committed suicides, said the farmer leaders adding that our protests would continue till such time our demands are not accepted.
