Ensure proper screening of persons entering district
Entry only via e-pass to be generated from cova app
S.A.S. Nagar, July 06, 2020: ''No unauthorised entry into the district would be allowed and strict vigil would be maintained at all the 5 Border Check Posts at Siswan, Jharmari, Zirakpur, Bohra Khera Morh, and Nagal Morh so as to ensure that everybody entering the district goes through proper procedures as laid out in the advisory regarding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),for the persons coming into the State of Punjab, which would be applicable from 7th July, 2020.''
Disclosing this here today, the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Girish Dayalan said that in view of the rising cases of corona virus, the District Administration would double up its efforts which would include the deploying of the teams from police, and the health departments for making sure that anybody coming to the district is made to go through proper medical screening at the three counters at each of the above mentioned 5 border check posts. Furthermore, there would not be any requirement of any pass as only e-passes generated through cova app would be accepted.
The Data Entry Operators would also be deployed at every border check post for the purpose of maintaining the complete information about every person entering into the district and besides this, for the assistance of those not so technically sound , there would also be experts at each border post who would assist the people coming into the district to download the cova app. Besides, the ambulance service would also be kept on call so as to ensure its availability at short notice.
Importantly, in accordance with the advisory, Any person whether major or minor coming to Punjab via any mode i.e. Road, rail or air shall henceforth, and till further orders, would be medically screened when he/she enters Punjab and will be required to e-register himself/herself through any of the following means before starting his/her journey to Punjab.
By uploading COVA app on his/her mobile phone & then registering himself/herself & each member of his/her family travelling with him/her.
After that would follow the process of downloading this e-registration slip & pasting it on the windscreen of his/her vehicle if travelling by personal vehicle through road or carry it with him/her on mobile if travelling in public transport or travelling by rail/air OR by logging on to portalhttps://cova.punjab.gov.in/registration & then e-registering all members of his/her family travelling with him/her to Punjab.
In case any inbound traveler does not undertake the step detailed above, then he/she would be asked at border, rail, airport check post while entering Punjab to cooperate with the team of the Punjab Government who would undertake the data capturing process there at the spot itself.
Except for frequent travelers, all inbound persons after reaching Punjab will have to undertake a self-quarantine of 14 days & during this period they will have to update their health status daily on COVA app OR would have to call 112 daily. In case they feel they are developing any symptoms of COVID-19, they will have to immediately call 104. For International Travelers, the quarantine would be institutional for first 7 days & home for the next 7 days.
Any violation of these instructions will make violators liable for penal action.
