Mohali , August 27, 2020: Apart from conferring State Award to teachers , the Punjab Education Department, Punjab is going to introduce ' Young Teacher Award' and ' Administrative Award' on Teachers Day ( September 05), this year.
Any teacher or school head working in the Department of School Education as well as under SAMAGRA and PICTES , having regular service of less than ten years and who has cleared probation or spent more than three years as on the cut off date of nomination, is eligible for the " Young Teacher Award". Similarly, the Administrative Officers i.e. District Education Officers ( Secondary and Primary), Deputy District Education Officers ( Secondary and Primary) , Block Primary Education Officers, DIET Principals, working in the Department of School Education, who have served for at least one year up to the last cut off date of the nomination, are eligible for the " Administrator Award" .
However, the employees, who are on extension are not eligible for the Award.
No teacher, school head or administrator would apply for the award himself or herself. Any other person or employee working in the Department of School Education can send on line nomination of the eligible teacher , school head or administrator, at website : epunjabschool.gov.in by August 28.
The parameters for evaluation for selection of teachers, school heads and administrators for the " Young Teacher Award" and " Administrator Award" would be contribution in enhancing the learning outcomes of the students , professional development, in service training, updation of knowledge, contribution towards mobilisation of community, parents, alumni for developing school infrastructure , BALA work, smart class rooms, smart schools, contribution in developing teaching learning material, training modules , subject content , organisation of extra curricular activities, innovative experiments like use of ICT, joyful learning techniques, activity based methods, delivering audio-video lectures on You tube/TV/ Radio channels , mobilisation of society for spreading awareness regarding social evils, health, national integration, strengthening of school libraries, Book Bank, Reading Cell, prominent contributions towards working in school for comparatively more number of days during the academic year for taking extra remedial classes, organising summer camps, increasing enrollment, efficient and effective implementation of Departmental Schemes etc.
