Implementation of DST Scheme in all Institutions of the State: Purkhalvi
SAS Nagar, August 31, 2020: “As part of a Comprehensive Policy to provide 100 per cent employment to the youth completing Craftsman Training, DST (Dual System of Training) scheme has been implemented in all the institutions of the state during the forthcoming session with the efforts of the State Government”, was stated in a press release issued by Mr. Shamsher Purkhalvi, Principal, District ITI (Girls), Mohali.
In his Press Statement issued to the local Media, Mr. Purkhalvi said that as per the order of the Cabinet Minister of Punjab Sardar Charanjit Singh Channi, admission in all the government institutions of the state under the leadership of Mr. Anurag Verma IAS, Principal Secretary, Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab, to enable the youth enrolled in all the government institutions of the state to meet the present challenges and provide more employment opportunities, the implementation of DST scheme launched by the state government the total number of seats at Government ITI (Girls) Mohali in various trades has increased from 235 to be filled every year to 428 this year, so it is natural that the fifth, eighth, tenth, 10 + 2 and more educated girls of the area will get benefit a lot.
He said that under the DST scheme, during the fixed training period the trainees would be imparted part time education in the institute and half time practical training would be imparted in the concerned government and semi government institutions where the girls would get the benefit of high tech machinery for practical training. There will also be a tremendous increase in the sources of employment for them.
Disclosing this here today Mr. Shamsher Purkhalvi said that ITI Mohali has set up DST with PunCom (Punjab Communications Ltd.) for Electronics Mechanic Trade, PUDA Mohali for Draftsman Civil, Municipal Corporation Mohali for Secretarial Practice (English Stenography), Punjab Municipal Infrastructure Development Company for Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, Elcom Systems Pvt Ltd. Mohali for Information Technology, Delco Clothing Pvt Ltd. for Sewing Technology and an agreement has been signed with DSB Enterprises Mohali for Surface Ornamentation Techniques.
He said that keeping in view the current demand, in collaboration with Swaraj Engines Ltd. Mohali, two short term courses of Child Care Taker and Elder Attendant have also been started this year which are absolutely free. Mr. Purkhalvi said that the aim of the organization was to make the young girls of the area self-reliant.
