Fatehgarh Sahib. August.27, 2020: The anti Narcotic Cell of Fatehgarh Sahib police have nabbed four persons involved in the sale of illicit liquor and recovered 60 liters of illicit liquor from their custody. The police have confisticated two vehicles in which they were carrying the liquor.
Amneet Kondal SSP said that the police had erected naka on GT Road Sirhind near village Bhola Reona. The police signaled an Innova car to stop for checking but the driver tried to flee and another car following the innova also tried to flee but the police chased the innova and overpowered the occupants of both the cars. She said that police had specific information that the illicit liquor is being smuggled from Haryana by certain liquor smugglers and they supply in the district. She said that during search of both the cars, the police recovered 60 liters of illicit liquor being smuggled from Haryana for sale in the district. She said that the four occupants have been identified as Narpinder Singh and Jagwinder Singh both residents of village Attewali, Gurpreet Singh and Abdul Rehman both residents of Hamayunpur Sirhind. She said that during preliminary interrogation they revealed that they used to bring illicit liquor from Haryana through secret rural routes and sell in the district. She said that all these are already facing various cases under NDPS Act.
