Ferozepur Division loaded maximum 35 freight trains in one day earing Rs.17.13 crore
Railways – Life Line of India, earned record revenue amid Corona pandemic
Ferozepur, August 30, 2020: The Indian Railways – known as the ‘Life Line of India’ – despite various challenges faced due to Corona epidemic, continue to extend its services for transporting the immigrants to other States and essential commodities.
Divisional Railway Manager Rajesh Agrawal informed that the Ferozepur Division of the Northern Railway has achieved new heights in earning freight revenue during the Lockdown and amid various curbs.
He said, on August 29, the Ferozepur Division has set a new milestone in the history of the Division by earning the highest revenue of about Rs. 17.13 crore in a single day. Earlier, in one day, on July 27, the highest revenue of about Rs 16.20 crore was earned. On the same day 35 freight trains were loaded by with 1568 wagons which is the best performance in a day in the history of the Division. Prior to this, 32 freight trains were loaded on April 22, 2020.
DRM said, it is all due to the joint efforts of Commercial, Operations, Mechanical, Engineering, Signals and Telecommunications, Electricity etc. Departments.
DRM has announced a joint award of ₹ 5000 to the Commercial and Operations Department as well as other departments for this work.
Sudhir Kumar Singh, Senior Divisional Operations Manager and Chetan Taneja, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager are in constant touch with the freight customers under the Business Development Unit – BDU - of the Division to set new record in terms of loading. Many concessions/discounts are also being given in Indian Railways to make freight attractive, he added.
