Jalandhar, August 31, 2020: Ensuring effective clinical management of Covid-19 positive cases especially critical or serious patients in Jalandhar, the district administration has now involved two experts from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh.
Disclosing this here today, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Vishesh Sarangal, who is in-charge of tertiary hospitals level-III, said that head of Anaesthesia and Dean PGI Professor GD Puri and MD Anaesthesia & Associate Professor Dr Kamal Kajal will be available round the clock for the doctors of Jalandhar to ensure better treatment of Covid patients.
He said that they will handhold the district in the clinical management of serious COVID-19 patients which will help to minimize the case fatality rate. He said that expert guidance of both specialists would prove beneficial in emergency cases too.
He also added that he has requested state health advisor, Dr KK Talwar, to extend requisite help to local Administration in tackling serious Covid cases especially those undergoing treatment in ICU.
He said that he immediately deputed the said two experts, who will be remained 24x7 available to help the doctors in case of expert advice.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) further said that saving life of the human from Covid is of paramount importance. He reiterated the district administration will leave no stone unturned to ensure availability of robust health care facilities for the serious patients in Jalandhar.
Sarangal also said that the district has 248 level-3 beds in government and private health institutions presently.
He further added that the district administration has already made persistent efforts to halt the spread of the Covid by focusing on four ‘Ts’ tracking, tracing, testing and treatment here.
He said that it was need of the hour to adhere to the guidelines issued by the State Government and Health Department as preventive measures against COVID-19 including wearing protective masks, washing hands frequently, maintaining social distancing and immediately inform the health authorities in case of any symptoms of coronavirus
