Corona patients arriving at the hospital will be treated in a separate molecular lab at the hospital
Mohali 28 August 2020: Sri Guru Harkrishan Sahib Charitable Hospital Sohana is now equipped with more modern facilities for the treatment of corona patients. To combat the Corona epidemic, Sohana Hospital has set up a separate molecular lab at the hospital in an area of 1500 square feet. The main purpose of setting up a separate molecular lab is to keep patients from other diseases coming to the hospital away from this epidemic. Not only this, corona tests will now be performed at the hospital using rapid and RT-PCR methods. Suspicious patients can now get their COVID tested at Suhana Hospital and the facility is also available to the general public.
It is pertinent to mention here that the new Molecular Lab set up at the hospital has been approved by ICMR and is accredited by NABL. At the same time the hospital has expedited the bio-medical waste management program as per the guidelines of the Punjab government for proper disposal and safe keeping of bio-medical waste to ensure the safety of the people on a large scale.
Talking about the recent changes made at the hospital in the wake of the Corona epidemic, the hospital management said that the main objective of the hospital was to ensure the safety of the patients coming to the hospital. He said that the hospital has a separate sample collection for corona antigen testing for throat and nasal congestion. Which is being rendered services by highly skilled technical staff under the guidance of MD Microbiologist Dr. Neerja Gupta from PGI Chandigarh. Sharing more details, he said that the hospital has installed a very sensitive fully automatic fully closed system RTPCR machine, suggested by ICMR.
