Speaking on the stage, Baldev Singh Sirsa, a farmers' leader, said, "The people, who are protesting against the three farm laws in Chandigarh and Mohali, should shift their protest towards Singhu and Tikri borders as it is the need of the time."
Gurnam Singh Chaduni, leader of Haryana Kisan Union, said for the last couple of days, the rumors were being spread that the youths have separated their ways from the SKM. He said the huge Maha Sabha organized by the youths proved that they are the backbone of this agitation, and they are ready to sacrifice their lives for this fight.
Calling the agitation a ''second fight for freedom,'' Chaduni said, "The agitation will go even longer, and we are ready to fight till 2024. The protest of farmers has no more remained a national-level matter, but it becomes a world-level issue now. More than 250 people have already sacrificed their lives, and more sacrifices can take place in the coming days." Slamming the central government, Chaduni said the government made the condition of farmers pathetic in the country by implementing such agriculture policies. "As per the current MSPs of all grains, it is not possible to survive on the basis of agriculture only. In such worst conditions, we have to quit farming in the future," said Chaduni.
He added that the farmer unions would conduct their meeting on March 9, where crucial decisions will be taken regarding the upcoming strategies of on-going agitation. The union leaders will also move to West Bengal in the coming days to spread awareness among Bengal people.
Chaduni said the BJP government was trying to divide them on the grounds of caste. He appealed to all the farmers to put a picture of Bhim Rao Ambedkar (laborers' leader) in their houses. He suggested all the laborers put a picture of Sir Chhotu Ram (farmers' leader) in their homes as a sweet gesture.
Jagjeet Singh Dallewal, leader of BKU (Sidhupur) said, "All the three farm laws passed by the government are totally black. Government's motive is to end the MSP by implementing these laws, which are full of complications." He said the large gatherings of people all over the country are dreading the agriculture minister Narendra Tomar now. The new trend of Mahapanchayats has united the people outside North India also.
