Railways restore trains operation up to Amritsar including Shatabdi Special
Ferozepur, March 12, 2021: Conveying once again thanks from the railways to the Kissan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, for clearing the railway track near Jandiala railway station keeping in view the convenience of the people of Punjab, Ferozepur Division, Divisional Rail Manager, Rajesh Aggarwal informed that railways restored the traffic from Amritsar route which was earlier running via diverted routes.
In fact, a group of farmers had been protesting to repeal three farm laws for 169 days and Kissan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee which had been spearheading the stir had decided to withdraw the ail blockade at Devidaspura on the Amritsar-Delhi route after a meeting of all protesting farmer unions.
DRM Said, in all, as many as 16 trains are running from Amritsar. Six trains up to Amritsar from today which were short terminated and short originated earlier have been restored which are – Jalandhar City-Indore, Ajmer, Chandigarh-Hazur Sahib Nanded, Bandra Terminus and Ambala Cantt Korba.
He said the two diverted trains – Sambalpur-Jammu Tawi and Ahmedabad Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, have also been restored via a proper route which was earlier running through diverted routes.
New train- Shatabdi Special between Amritsar-Delhi will also be restored from March 13, said DRM.
DRM said, the three cancelled trains – Amritsar-Darbhanga, Amritsar-Saharsa and Amritsar-Sealdah will also be restored shortly as we are in touch with the other railway divisions for final schedules.
