Chandigarh: Over 11k covid vaccine doses given in PGI

Chandigarh, March 31, 2021:
As the COVID Vaccination Drive is expanded to include all persons aged above 45 years from April 1, the health institutes of the city are geared-up for providing maximum vaccinations to people.
As per the information obtained from the UT health department, a total of 11,023 doses have been administered in 162 sessions at the PGIMER, Chandigarh till March 31. The vaccination drive started in the PGI on January 16, has been divided into two categories – health care workers and public. Among the health care workers, 6,357 got the first jab of covid vaccine whereas 2,880 got the second dose also. In Public, 1779 have been vaccinated with the first dose whereas only 7 have got the second dose till now.
As per the health department, the Government and Private Health Facilities administering the Vaccine are on the path to make the Vaccination drive a success. The vaccine is available free of cost at all the Govt. Facilities and for Rs. 250 per dose in the Private Healthcare Facilities.
