Chandigarh, December 16, 2016: The political parties who are racing for power in Punjab, the ruling SAD-BJP alliance, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are more interested in poaching on each other than the problems and demands of public. This was stated here today by Er. Gurkirpal Singh President of Punjab Democratic Party(PDP).
In a press statement Er. Gurkirpal Singh said that for the last over a month the political leaders are reshuffling from one party to the other for vested interests and party bosses are poaching for 'discarded' lot to boost the image. Ironically, the dumped leader are defined as 'scrap' and those accepts them are named scrap dealers. Those comes back to party are described strength of the party and event projected as home coming. These parties and their leaders have no ideology and morals and neither any respect for the democracy.
PDP president said that SAD had taken back two leaders former Minister Balbir Singh Bath and Raghbir Singh Rajasansi who had left the SAD calling its President Sukhbir Singh Badal and dictator who has no respect for the party workers. Bath had joined AAP and he has returned to SAD after he was not given the party ticket. Hans Raj Hans who changed loyalties between SAD and Congress is now in BJP. The BJP leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu who thought Congress was 'anti-Punjab' and 'anti-Sikh' has joined the same party. Pargar Singh and Raminder Singh Bularia SAD MLAs who carried the opinion for over ten years that SAD is the sole party which is pro-poor and pro-farmer overnight changed the mind and found Congress is more relevant for people of Punjab. Yet there are many others who saw a ray of hope in AAP and suddenly realized AAP is 'most corrupt' party of India.
Er.Gurkirpal Singh said that the political parties have lost all the grace and shown disrespect to the electorates who voted them on the basis of ideology of respective parties. He said that these parties have made Punjab a football ground and thrown all the rules of game into wind. He said that such leaders and parties cant be true to people and would serve only vested interests if voted to power. He said that ruling SAD-BJP alliance and Congress had ruled the state turn by turn but they have never tried to resolve the issues like river waters, transfer of Chandigarh and Punjabi speaking areas to Punjab. He questioned SAD-BJP and Congress who stopped them from finding a solution to these inters-state disputes when they ruled simultaneously in Punab, Haryana and at center.
PDP President said that people of Punjab were facing problems of law and order, illegal mining, poor civil facilities, health and education system. These problems never got the attention of present and past governments. He said that people of state were looking for a better alternative and PDP is capable of delivering the goods. He appealed people to elect new faces and dump the 'political scrap'.
